Yesterday, Jo Cox, a lawmaker for the opposition Labour Party strongly supporting Britain’s continued membership of the EU, was fatally shot and stabbed on the street. The death of the Parliament member has put a halt to campaigning by both the “Leave” and “Remain” groups. Events planned on Friday by the U.K. Independence Party were also canceled. The murder is expected to sway public opinion to the Remain Camp, thus boosting oil prices in the early part of Friday’s trading session for the first time, after 7 consecutive days of declines. On the H1 chart, the price has slightly retreated from around 47.28, and is expected to test the resistance at 47.46, formed on May 23rd soon.
